Veterinary Technician (Loveland, CO Location)

Are you a Veterinary Technician looking to make a difference in your community? Our Veterinary Technicians (Colorado Credentialed/Registered/Provisional) provide clinical and administrative support for our Shelter Veterinary Services Department. In this fulfilling role, you’ll provide critical support by assisting with surgeries, administering medications, performing physical exams, and ensuring the overall health and well-being of shelter animals. You’ll also be responsible for maintaining accurate medical records, performing basic diagnostics, and handling essential shelter tasks such as cleaning, feeding, and supporting animal intake. The ideal candidate is certified/registered with the State of Colorado, has at least 1 year of veterinary technician experience, and is proficient in intubation, IV catheter placement, and anesthesia monitoring. Experience with shelter software (like Chameleon) and dental procedures is a plus, and bilingual (English/Spanish) skills are highly valued and include a wage premium. Schedules are generally full time (40 hours per week), include weekend shifts, and are subject to change according to business need. Shift hours generally range from 7am to 7pm. Director of Animal Protection & Control (Loveland, CO Location)

NOCO Humane is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Animal Protection and Control to lead our dedicated team in enforcing animal control ordinances and promoting responsible pet ownership across Larimer County. In this full-time leadership role, you’ll oversee a team of officers and dispatchers, manage the day-to-day operations of our Animal Protection and Control department, and ensure compliance with state and local laws. As a key member of the management team, you’ll collaborate with community partners, provide expert guidance, and be the voice of animal protection in the community.
We’re looking for candidates with a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) and at least 4 years of experience in animal protection, code enforcement, or law enforcement, ideally in a supervisory or management capacity. You should have at least 3 years of staff management experience, with a proven ability to lead, train, and develop teams. Strong customer service, communication, and public speaking skills are essential, as is the ability to negotiate contracts and engage with government agencies. Familiarity with Colorado State Animal Control Officer certification, court testimony, and animal shelter software (Chameleon) is preferred. Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus, with a wage premium offered.

Facilities and Maintenance Supervisor (Loveland, CO Location)

Our Facilities and Maintenance Supervisor assists in ensuring proper operation and/or maintenance of the Shelter’s building(s), equipment, systems and grounds (facilities). This is a working supervisory position reporting to the Facilities and Maintenance Manager. The incumbent ensures maintenance and facilities requests and needs are completed with assistance from vendors, contractors and applicable maintenance staff and/or volunteers including tasks related to janitorial, electrical, landscaping, building security and other building processes. Schedule is full-time 40 hours per week, generally Sunday through Thursday 8am-5pm, with occasional weekend, evening and emergency response hours required. Flexibility required. Requirements include an Associate’s degree in an applicable field of study OR professional work equivalent. Applicable technical certifications are a plus. A minimum of 2 years of experience in an applicable role in a comparable commercial building. Project management experience is required. Experience providing oversight and supervision of staff or volunteers is required. Hands-on, basic building maintenance and repair experience. Experience with electronic control panels for security, lighting, HVAC and electrical a plus. Animal Protection & Control Officer (Loveland, CO Location)

Chief Veterinarian Animal Shelter (Loveland, CO Location)

We’re seeking a Chief Veterinarian who excels at shelter medicine, embraces open admission and Socially Conscious Sheltering philosophies, and is ready to use their experience and creativity to help our growing Organization reach new levels! This is a new senior leadership position reporting to the Director of Operations. Provides leadership and direction for the veterinary services departments, programs and staff at all campuses including the veterinary clinics, shelter medicine and community-based programs Directly manages 5+ staff members (including the Shelter Veterinarians and Veterinary Services Managers) and indirectly oversees supervision of 14+ department employees. Interacts closely and collaborates with the Associate Directors of Operations and Animal Control. Responsible for implementation of veterinary services related initiatives in the strategic plan for NOCO Humane and the daily operations of the multi-location department. Serves as the medical authority for NOCO Humane and manages the health of the animal population, the surgical program and disease control protocols. The position includes surgical responsibilities. Must be currently licensed in the State of Colorado to practice (or obtain State license soon after hiring) and maintain certification. Minimum three (3) years of experience as an animal shelter veterinarian with substantial responsibilities for population level issues required. Two (2) years of staff supervision required. High quality/high volume surgical sterilization experience required as is dental surgery experience. Must be qualified and eligible to obtain and retain DEA license. This position supports the Director of Operations and provides expertise in shelter operations, applicable multi-team training and management, animal population management, domestic animal behavior, customer service, animal care and animal evaluation for our Loveland, CO campus. Also responsible for applying the tenets of socially conscious sheltering and capacity for care at all facilities. Regular Full-Time (40 hrs), Non-Exempt, Hourly
Reporting to our Animal Behavior Supervisor, our Animal Behavior Coordinators serve as Shelter resources for basic animal behavior and enrichment. Responsibilities include evaluating animals for outcomes including adoption, foster care, transfer, medical attention and more. Members of our Behavior team also develop and implement programs and practices to meet the enrichment needs of companion animals including dogs, cats, small mammals, reptiles and more. There is a significant amount of animal interaction required in the job, as well as staff interaction, training and working with volunteers. Additional duties include communicating with clients through various channels and assisting with training and the creation of basic help guides. Requirements include a minimum of an Associate degree in biology, the animal sciences, animal husbandry, veterinary-technician studies, an associated field of study OR equivalent and applicable work experience in addition to a high school diploma. A minimum of over one year work experience in animal welfare OR six (6) months current experience with the Organization in an animal handling position is required. The regular work schedule is 40 hours per week and includes one weekend day and is subject to change according to business need. Overtime and attendance at events, trainings and more is required. Proven bilingual skills in English and Spanish (speaking, understanding, reading and writing) is a plus and includes a pay premium. Hiring range begins at $18.00 per hour and is commensurate with applicable experience and education. Closes November 30, 2024, or when filled.
