Larimer Humane Society is prepared to assist residents impacted by the 10/16/19 Elk Fire. The Red Cross shelter is set up at Livermore Church located at 284 W CR and 74E. Owners can house their pets with them there.
- If you have evacuated and are in need of temporary housing for cats, dogs, small mammals, exotic pets, and/or small barnyard animals (fowl, pigs, sheep, or goats), the shelter will be open until 7 p.m. on weekdays, and 5 p.m. on weekends.
- If you need after-hours assistance, or assistance evacuating animals listed above, contact Animal Protection & Control at 970-226-3647, ext. 7.
- If you need assistance with large animals, including horses and livestock, contact the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office at 970-416-1985
